About InjuryWise

Last updated 2026-10-14.

InjuryWise is an independent information site for people injured in the Republic of Ireland: what to do in the first week, how the Injuries Resolution Board works step by step, the two-year clock and the one-month letter, what the Personal Injuries Guidelines say an injury like theirs is worth, what accepting or rejecting an assessment costs, and when a solicitor is the right next step. In one chapter it is also for the shop, employer, driver or dog owner who has received a claim.

Who is behind it

InjuryWise is published by Codable Labs Ltd, an Irish company, and is part of the StampWise family of independent guides alongside StampWise.ie (Irish immigration), EmploymentWise.ie (your rights at work), DefamationWise.ie, DivorceWise.ie and SettleWise. It is not a law firm, not a claims-management company, and not affiliated with the Injuries Resolution Board (PIAB), the Judicial Council, the Courts Service, the Motor Insurers' Bureau of Ireland, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Tribunal, the Department of Social Protection, the Law Society, any insurer or any solicitor's firm.

How the content is kept honest

  • Every guide names the Act, the Board page or the Guidelines paragraph it comes from and shows the date it was last checked.
  • Every tool reads its rules from one of three versioned configs with its own source list and dated figures; nothing is hard-coded in a page. The Guidelines config is the whole 2021 document, transcribed from the Judicial Council’s PDF and tested. Figures that could not be checked against the primary source are marked as awaiting that check, on the sources page.
  • The figures register holds the Board’s own published figures and the Central Bank’s, never an individual case and never a prediction.
  • A weekly check flags any guide or config not verified in 90 days; the Board config is re-read on every fees regulation and annual report, the Guidelines config whenever the Council publishes an edition.
  • Law in force, law approved or enacted but not in force, and announced plans are kept apart on the rule-change tracker.

What the site will not do

  • It gives no legal advice, never gives a figure for a reader’s claim, never says who was at fault, and never recommends claiming or accepting or rejecting an assessment.
  • Its enquiry form passes your details to one partner solicitor firm only with your consent, never asks what happened to you, and sends nothing to the Board, an insurer or a court. The disclosure page says how the firm pays (Solicitors Act 1954, section 62) and how the form keeps to the Legal Services Regulatory Authority’s advertising regulations.
  • It never makes, hosts, mirrors or pre-fills a Board application. InjuryWise is independent. Applications are made to the Injuries Resolution Board at injuries.ie; we never make or submit a claim.
  • It never names a respondent a reader describes and hosts no accounts of accidents.
  • It sells no letters: the letter builder is free, generic and in the reader’s own words.
  • It uses none of the words the advertising rules ban, carries no dramatic or emotive pictures, and mentions damages only by reference to the Guidelines and the Board’s reports.

Corrections

Corrections are welcome: write to hello@injurywise.ie with the page address and the official source. Where a page and the Act differ, the Act is right.
